About

Deni heads the Tax practice group at Acuity Law with specialization in global trade and indirect taxes. Deni has more than 2 decades of experience in advising multinational and domestic corporate clients across a spectrum of indirect tax laws such as Customs, Foreign Trade Policy, Goods and Services Tax, Service Tax, Value Added Tax, etc. The range of services encompass rendering advisory, compliance, audits/ investigations, controversy management and litigation related services. Deni has experience of working with varied industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, leasing, pharmaceuticals, financial services, e-commerce, media and entertainment, logistics (courier/ airlines), hospitality, etc.

Deni joined Acuity Law in 2020 and has worked previously with Deloitte, BMR Advisors, KPMG, EY and Andersen.

Deni has led and assisted multinational corporate clients across varied industries in:

  • Transitioning from the sales tax regime to Value Added Tax era
  • Adapting to the negative list regime under Service Tax
  • Transitioning to the Goods and Service Tax regime
  • Cross-border acquisitions and India entry strategies
  • Navigating the tax authority initiated investigations, enquiries and audits
